This adapter lets you charge your Tesla vehicle at standard BS1363 type G household outlets used in the UK, UAE, and Hong Kong. One end is the British standard 230 volt fused plug, and the other end is the Tesla connector. Our adapter has been programmed for 12 amps, delivering the maximum power available from a Type G outlet. At 12 amps, this is 20% faster than Tesla's OEM adapter! Of course, our adapter contains a user-replaceable fuse for your safety, and an embedded thermal sensor which continuously monitors the plug temperature.
For your safety, this adapter has an internal circuit that monitors the plug temperature and communicates with the car to automatically set the appropriate 16 amp charging current. At up to 12 amps, you’ll charge at the fastest possible rate from normal household outlets! No need to manually set the current – simply plug it in! We use a thicker cable for maximum efficiency and it also is more comfortable to grip onto when connecting and disconnecting it from your Tesla vehicle’s mobile connector. Cable length is 30 cm. Which adapter do you need?
Tesla vehicles delivered prior to December 15th 2017 came with the Gen 1 UMC. All new Tesla vehicles come with the Gen 2 or Gen 3 UMC. If you’re not sure, take a look at the charger cord that came with your car, and compare to the pictures below:
If your Tesla came with the Gen 1 UMC, it will not work with this adapter. All new Tesla vehicles come with the Gen 2 or Gen 3 UMC and can use this adapter.
