Our NEMA 6-50 adapter lets you charge your Tesla vehicle with Gen 1 UMC at 50 amp NEMA 6-50 outlets, commonly used for welders (not to be confused with the standard 120V NEMA 5-15 outlets which look similar but are much smaller in size). This particular adapter fits the Gen 1 UMC, which was included with Tesla vehicles delivered prior to December 15th 2017.
Just like Tesla's OEM adapters, our adapter has an internal circuit that communicates with the car to automatically set the appropriate 40 amp charging current. No need to manually set the current - simply plug it in! Cable length is 18 inches. Made exclusively by EVSE Adapters.
Which adapter do you need?
Tesla vehicles delivered prior to December 15th 2017 came with the Gen 1 UMC. If your Tesla came with the Gen 1 UMC, you can use this adapter. All new Tesla vehicles come with the Gen 2 or Gen 3 UMC.
