Our NEMA 5-20 Gen 1 adapter lets you charge your Tesla vehicle with Gen 1 UMC at the higher power 120V NEMA 5-20 outlets. These outlets typically have a T-shaped slot on the left. With this adapter, you can charge at up to 16 amps, compared to only 12 amps using the standard 120V adapter on standard outlets. Charge faster with our NEMA 5-20 adapter. This particular adapter fits the Gen 1 UMC, which was included with Tesla vehicles delivered prior to December 15th 2017.
Just like Tesla's OEM adapters, our adapter has an internal circuit that communicates with the car to automatically set the appropriate 16 amp charging current. No need to manually set the current - simply plug it in! Cable length is 18 inches. Made exclusively by EVSE Adapters.
This product comes with a 3 year warranty.
Which adapter do you need?
Tesla vehicles delivered prior to December 15th 2017 came with the Gen 1 UMC. If your Tesla came with the Gen 1 UMC, you can use this adapter. All new Tesla vehicles come with the Gen 2 or Gen 3 UMC. If you’re not sure, take a look at the charger cord that came with your car, and compare to the pictures below:
It works well, but the ground pin is on the opposite end of the plug that it would need to be so that the cord would hang straight down in most NEMA 5-20 plugs.
Works perfectly. TY
Great price, fast shipping. Product works as expected.
Product as advertised. Works great and good quality. Fits snug enough to mobile charger connection. So happy to have this, definitely gives me more charge per hour than my 5-15 adapter.
