Our NEMA 14-50 Gen 1 adapter lets you charge your Tesla vehicle with Gen 1 UMC at up to 40 amps, its fastest speed, on NEMA 14-50, 50 amp 4-wire outlets. These outlets are commonly found at RV parks/campgrounds, and are often used for electric ovens in homes. The plug has a convenient handle making it easy to unplug, and safer by keeping your fingers away from the outlet. This particular adapter fits the Gen 1 UMC, which was included with Tesla vehicles delivered prior to December 15th 2017.
Just like Tesla's OEM adapters, our adapter has an internal circuit that communicates with the car to automatically set the appropriate 40 amp charging current. No need to manually set the current - simply plug it in! Cable length is 18 inches. Made exclusively by EVSE Adapters.
Which adapter do you need?
Tesla vehicles delivered prior to December 15th 2017 came with the Gen 1 UMC. All new Tesla vehicles come with the Gen 2 or Gen 3 UMC. If you’re not sure, take a look at the charger cord that came with your car, and compare to the pictures below:
If your Tesla came with the Gen 1 UMC, it will not work with this adapter. All new Tesla vehicles come with the Gen 2 or Gen 3 UMC and can use this adapter.
