This specially designed power converter is a step-down transformer connected to a J1772 EV charger receptacle, enabling you to operate all standard 120V appliances at electric vehicle charging stations. It converts any electric vehicle charging station to a regular 120V wall outlet capable of operating any appliance. It is a very useful device for camper vans and RVs. Van dwellers who want to plug in to electric car chargers to charge their batteries or operate appliances can easily do so now. It makes van life so much more convenient!
We have recently made several improvements to this product: For your convenience, this converter features both a standard 120V outlet and a 30 amp TT-30 outlet on front. The included voltage meters show you the input and output voltages at a glance, and the rotary switch lets you fine-tune the output voltage to ensure optimal operation of your appliances. We also boosted its performance, now with a 3000 watt continuous rating (3600 watt peak for 1 minute). The rating is based on operation of non-inductive loads at room temperature while sheltered from direct sunlight and with ample ventilation. For your safety, we have also re-engineered the transformer coil to provide a centered ground, ensuring no risk of voltage on the ground line and ensuring no circuit faults - a safety feature that you will not find on off-the-shelf transformers. Approximate weight and dimensions: 17 lbs. / 9 x 8 x 6 inches. The device comes with a detachable input cord which is 2 feet in length and plugs into the back of the unit. This allows for ease of installation and gives you the option of extending the cord by simply connecting a C13 extension cord if desired.
Since EV chargers output voltages may vary a little from one to the next (usually between 200-250V), our 3000 watt converters feature a multiple input voltage selection, enabling you to tweak the output voltage when desired, to maximize your available power. This is a feature that most transformers do not have. It virtually eliminates the risk of under-voltage issues, letting your sensitive appliances operate at their optimal voltage.
